About

Sabre is a disabled led, multi discipline retelling of the legend of Sabrina goddess of the river Severn. Sabre will use dance, drama and composition to engage local communities with a well known and loved folk tale. This tale spans the length of the Severn river and is designed to gain the perspective of communities who live along the river and would like to share their stories.

Hafren is the legendary goddess of the river Severn. Her mythical tale will be retold through this modern exploration of her journey from the hills of Powys, through the ancient settlements of Shropshire, across the wilds of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, the industrial heritage of Monmouthshire to the port of Bristol Estuary.

Through this project Lucy will be writing the script and conducting research whilst communicating with steering groups of young people who live along the river Severn. She will work with wildlife and environmental trusts, heritage organisations, councils and water companies who are working to improve water safety of the river Severn.
